I’m a regular mom who has to cook the meals, do the dishes, keep the house clean and everything else in between…
And of course, after the birth of a child, it’s diaper duty and 3 hour feeds through the night…

There are just not enough hours in the day.



Sadly, many people don’t understand what we go through.
For starters, they think it’s easy to be pregnant. They aren’t around to see the stretch marks form or the cellulite build up.
And then they assume that since you’re a mother, you don’t need to feel sexy or beautiful. They tell you to stop complaining because you’ve been given a baby.
And that’s unfair…
Because there’s nothing more frustrating than looking in the mirror and not recognizing that frumpy, tired, person staring back at you. Accessorized with milk stains and baby vomit. Feeling uncomfortable in your own skin.
Feeling disgusted with yourself.
Knowing that the sexy body you deserve is trapped beneath that post-baby belly.
And you feel guilty for feeling this way…

It’s no wonder mothers are struggling to drop the pounds.

Because I’ve gone through it myself… Not once, but twice!

The thing is I’ve never been slim or fit. I’ve had bad eating habits from the time I was a teenager.

During my first pregnancy I gained 30lbs.
I somehow managed, mostly through stress and sleepless nights, to drop 20lbs… But the remaining 10lbs followed me through my second pregnancy where I added on an additional 35lbs.
And after the birth of my second child, I simply couldn’t find a moment in the day where I could focus on myself. So, my post-baby weight loss plateaued at 30lbs. For a very very long time.
The truth is I felt like I had lost myself.
I felt so insecure with all the changes in my body that seemed to have happened overnight. I couldn’t bear to look at myself in the mirror anymore.
And I felt like I just didn’t have the time to do anything about it. Days turned into months, months turned into years.
My usual train of thought on any given day would be…
  • I don’t have time to go to a gym
  • And even if I did, I’m far too exhausted to do anything
  • I still have to get dinner ready and feed the baby
  • I’m just going to finish the dishes then take a quick nap
  • Oh, the baby is awake so I guess “me time” will have to wait
  • In January I’ll definitely start taking my weight loss seriously
Eventually I did snap out of it. But only after one of the most humiliating moments of my life.
I was at the grocery store with my kids when I bumped into an old friend I hadn’t seen in years…
After the usual catch-up banter she remarked:
“I can’t believe you’re already expecting number three!”
Then she rubbed my belly.
At the time I reacted angrily and went into defense-mode. And although she apologized profusely I didn’t care to continue the conversation, took my children and walked away.
In retrospect, that low point was the kick-start I needed. And really I should be thanking her for that very honest mistake she made.

I gathered myself and came to my senses.

I made small changes in my life and learned shortcuts to manage my time better.
And that’s when I devised a system that actually worked.
With it I was able to find time to get everything done, my energy levels received a major boost (with the odd sleepless night here and there!), I felt happier and healthier than ever before.
Even more so than when I was a teenager.
And my kids and husband seemed to notice the change too.
Because suddenly I had time to play and talk and was fun to be around again.
In a matter of weeks, without even focusing on it, I had lost more than just my baby weight. I ended up being 12lbs lighter than before I got pregnant!
My friends were in awe at the transformation. Not just externally, but internally too.
It was like I had a new lease on life and I just felt vibrant and alive.
Then moms started asking me how I had managed to do it. So I started sharing my strategies with them.
